Pagehome.com
is positive proof that the sharing of information and ideas is what can
make a better world for all of us. I would like to extend a special thanks
and note of appreciation to the following people for their help.
I would like thank TLC
for her patience and understanding in helping me to learn the "secrets"
of web page design. She wrote the first 50+ web pages at pagehome.com giving
me an invaluable resource to draw from. The Links Directory, all catigorized,
with over 200 links to some of the best web sites on the Internet was compiled
by her! You can see examples of her work through out the pagehome.com web
site.
Another person that must be acknowledged
for all his time and effort is Phylus
our main programer here at pagehome.com. He has helped me to understand
how computers and the various operating systems work. Any time I stumbled
or could not grasp a new concept about how DOS or Windows or Unix worked
he would take the time to explain it to me. Without his help we would not
have a Bookstore with over 20,000 books!
If you are writing a web page
and need some help McWebber
at AOL.com has put together a great site! I have visited his site many
times over the last 6 months and continue to do so to this day.
WebTours was just an idea a little
over a year ago. It takes 4 web pages to make one page on a Tour. That
means cordinating 60 web pages on a 15 page Tour. This is only half the
work involved! The most important work is finding the right 15 pages and
puting them in proper order. I would like to thank
Nameloc RC at AOL.com who has put together a bunch of great WebTours!
This is not a person but he must
be acknowledged for all his love and companionship.
Duke Dog my friend and official pagehome.com mascot.
The true spirit of the Internet shines thru this man Matt
Wright for his site at Matt's
Scripts Archive. The original concept of the World Wide Web was to
be able to share ideas with everyone. His was one of the first private
sites I came across that had real content and he was giving it away for
free! Complete working CGI programs and he even offers to help out if a
problem arrises when you install the scripts!
Another site showing the true spirit of the Internet resides at
Selena Sol's web site. Both Selena
Sol and Gunther Birznieks
wrote the application (Perl script) for the search engine at the pagehome.com
bookstores. Below is part of the Copyright Information that came with the
very complete Installation Instructions!
"...having been inspired by countless other Perl authors. Feel
free to copy, cite, reference, sample, borrow, resell or
plagiarize the contents. However, if you don't mind, please let
me know
where it goes so that I can at least watch and take part in the
development of the memes. Information wants to be free, support
public
domain freware. Donations are appreciated and will be spent on
further
upgrades and other public domain scripts."
Much thanks to Bill Weinman
for his mouseovers javascript. He wrote the first -- and most complete
-- book on CGI programming for the World Wide Web. It is written in a clear
and easy-to-read style with examples of complete working CGI programs in
C, Perl, and Borne Shell. His javascript made possible this navagational
bar below.
